Wedding Night Tips for Nervous Newlyweds

Wedding Night

There is a myth about wedding night sex in our culture: on that night, every couple is going to have the most amazing sex of their entire lives. If you think about it, you will realize that this is a rather silly notion that puts a lot of pressure on couples, especially if they are not experienced.

However, this does not mean that your wedding night has to be a total fail: we have prepared a list of tips you and your partner can do to make the moment memorable.

Talk To Your Other Half

One of the most important aspects of any relationship is communication, and this is true on your wedding night (just like any other day or night). You should feel free and comfortable to talk your partner about your wants and desires. Don’t feel embarrassed or shy to tell them what you like or dislike, knowing what each other wants will only improve your sex life.

Reflect On Your Big Day to Calm the Nerves and Connect

Keep in mind that you wedding day is ALL about the two of you and the love you had for each other. With all the partying, photographing, drinking, eating and conversing, it can be difficult to get a moment alone and actually exchange a few words. After the party is over, take a moment to reflect on the best and funniest moments, the soppiest moments and what an incredible day you have had. Taking a few minutes to connect will make you feel even more comfortable with your new husband/wife and appreciate what you have had there and then.

Lower Your Expectations

Again, try to keep in mind that not everyone is going to have the most amazing sex on their wedding night. This can happen for so many different reasons, but to be honest, the reason does not really matter. A lot f couples are exhausted, some are nervous and some feel too much pressure, and some are just too drunk to do it. Whatever the case it, do not stress yourself over it. Keep in mind that the most important thing is spending time with your other half and enjoying yourselves.

Turn Off Your Bridal Brain

A lot of brides are in hyper-focused and stressed out bride mode of wedding planning well into their wedding day. But once the wedding is over and you are alone with your (now legal) boo, try to turn the bride brain off and turn the wife brain on.
